This morning you will begin to climb the Rock Fortress, a UNESCO world heritage site. It is commonly called the ‘Fortress in the Sky’ and is probably the most fantastic wonder of Sri Lanka. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot rock.
Dambulla cave temple is part of the Golden Triangle of Sri Lanka and is encrusted into a magnificently large rock. It sits more than 160m above the surrounding land and spans for more than 1.5 km around the base. Also known as the “Golden Temple” it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. This ancient complex was initially established in 3rd Century BC and is truly a wonder as it is the largest and best-preserved cave temples in Sri Lanka. The cave temples are home to numerous religious and cultural paintings and sculptures.

Afternoon, visit the Minneriya National Park for a safari. The Park extends to 8,889 hectares and is well known for its large population of elephants in herds of 100 to 150 roaming in the jungle and seen in the catchment area of the lake. Other wildlife that can be sighted include wild buffaloes, wild boar, spotted deer, sloth bear, sambhar, leopards, crocodiles, jackals, and numerous species of amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish and butterflies.
Return back to your hotel in Habarana and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Polonnaruwa, which rose to prominence following Anuradhapura’s decline, served as the medieval capital and cherished gem of King Parakramabahu I, showcasing an extraordinary blend of ancient culture, heritage, and religious devotion. After breakfast proceed on the city tour of Kandy.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka’s last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the tooth in the evening,
Early evening, you will visit a Kandyan Dance performance and be treated to a spectacular fire walking finale.

Sri Lanka is one of the highest producers of tea in the world and if you are traveling in Sri Lanka, visiting a tea plantation is a must. The best place to go is the hill country and you are about to witness it. The tea plantation spreads across many hectares. While visiting the plantation and learning the process of making the Tea to the finest quality drop in also purchase tea at your wish. (Excursion visit – 45 mins)
Thereafter leave for Nuwara Eliya and proceed on a city tour.

Afternoon safari at Yala National Park. It is mainly famous for its leopards. The best chance to see a leopard is generally first thing in the morning and then again at dusk. The male leopards there are very confident animals and they are often seen walking the tracks during the day. Young males in Particular seem to have no fear of the jeep which can lead to some excellent photographic opportunities.
Apart from the leopards, there are a large number of elephants living in the park. Spotted deer, sambar, wild board, wild buffaloes, sloth bear, jackal and mangoose can also be seen. The bird life there too is fantastic.
you will be transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport, from where you will continue onwards to your next destination
